​​The Neponset River Greenway connects Boston Urban Wilds. Stretching across the City’s neighborhoods of Hyde Park, Mattapan and Dorchester and the Town of Milton.

The Neponset River Greenway covers eleven urban wilds, and stretches 10 miles from the mouth of the Neponset river, to the Fowl Medows at city limits.

The trail is available to pedestrians and bikes. The Neponset Greenway also connects tothe 5,000+ acre Blue Hills Reservation, resulting in the largest open space within 35 miles of Boston.

The Neponset is located at the very heart of the Neponset reservation, and provides a direct route from the mouth of the Neponset River to Herborwalk.

​​The route continues northbound along the Dorchester Shores Reservation to the Dorchester and South Boston beaches, and Castle Island.

There are an array of environmental opportunities sporatically held along the greenway through the the Youth Conservation Corps and other Events and meetings.
