The wild is completely surrounded by pavement and housing and supports very little vegetation, mostly weedy plants. A rough stone staircase ascends the eastern side of the wild allowing pedestrians access to Fernald Terrace from Quincy Street. An interpretive sign identifying the wild and describing Fernald Rock is mounted facing Quincy Street to the south.
Current Use: Fernald Terrace Urban Wild is used as a cut through from Quincy Street to Fernald Terrace and may be used for play by local children.
