In October the salt marshes of the Neponset River in Dorchester develop an eerie orange glow as illuminated jack-o-lanterns float down Davenport Creek toward the Neponset River Estuary.
Participants are invited to bring a 6 - 8 inch pumpkin that has been carved at home to the park to be mounted on a special individual float. Each jack-o-lantern will have a candle inserted and lit before being launched en masse in the water. Floats and candles are provided. Event is FREE.
Come see a beautiful water parade of spooky pumpkins! Children (and adults) are invited to wear costumes.
You are asked to register by calling BNAN at 617-542-7696 or email info@bostonnatural.org. Please give us your name, the number of children that will be attending, and the number of pumpkins you will be bringing. Registration is to ensure we have enough floats and candles. You do not need to register if you are coming only to watch and enjoy the floating parade of pumpkins.
