Address: Myrtlebank Ave, Dorchester Status: Protected Condition: Altered
Physical Description:
Hilltop Street Urban Wild is maintained as the Chief John A. Martin Playground & Park by the City of Boston. The southern portion of the wild, at Hilltop Street, was altered to include a basketball court and a collection of play structures. The northern portion, roughly 75% of the property, is a forested, mounded outcrop of Roxbury Conglomerate. The outcrop supports a healthy canopy of White Oak, Black Cherry, Hackberry with smaller Gray Birch. A paved path with the occasional bench winds over the stone and allows visitors to admire the understory vegetation.
