Description: Geneva Avenue Cliffs Urban Wild is a forested outcrop of Roxbury Puddingstone with supposed archaeological importance. It has been written that a bell-shaped, metallic vase named the, "the Dorchester Pot," was uncovered here in 1852. Even with recent path development, this site remains botanically diverse, boasting a stand of paper birch trees, an uncommon species within the city of Boston.
Current Use: The Wild is used by the public for passive recreation such as bird watching and walking.
History: Geneva Avenue Cliffs Urban Wild was permanently transferred to the City of Boston Conservation Commission in 2004. The Wild was improved in 2008 to include an network of paved paths allowing greater access and public safety to the Wild.
